Support Ukraine's Armed Forces Chaplains and the people of Ukraine
We can't send weapons or ammunition to Ukraine, but we can send help to those providing comfort to people fighting and to those who cannot leave the country.
Our goal is to raise £50,000. This will both support the 102 chaplains in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and buy Bibles to bring comfort to the wider population.
This comes in light of reports of an unprecedented number of requests for Bibles, with churches begging for them to give to those overwhelmed by fear: soldiers and their families, people living on the frontlines and displaced communities.
We want to donate £25,000 to the Armed Forces Chaplains and spend a further £25,000 buying 5,000 Bibles for wider community distribution in Ukraine (just £5 is enough to buy someone a Bible).
The chaplains serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces range from 30 to 73 years old and do not hold military ranks. They belong to different Christian denominations and faiths, but each one is committed to serving those of all faiths and none.
The significance of the role the chaplains have at a moment like this cannot be overstated. Risking their own lives, they bring comfort, encouragement, counselling and hope to all those involved in this terrible conflict.
Please give generously.
